This role involves strategic ownership of product lifecycles, cross-functional collaboration, and driving product strategy to improve educational outcomes.ResponsibilitiesOwn the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple Summit K12 products or major product areasDrive product strategy, roadmap planning, prioritization, execution, release, and iterative improvement across owned productsEnsure products align with company goals, instructional priorities, customer needs, and platform standardsBalance short-term delivery needs with long-term product sustainability and scalabilityTranslate business objectives, customer feedback, and instructional goals into actionable product plans and product decisionsLead discovery efforts to identify opportunities for product improvements, workflow optimization, and feature innovationPrioritize initiatives based on user impact, business value, technical feasibility, and operational constraintsMaintain clear ownership and accountability for product execution across planning, development, release, and maintenance activitiesCollaborate directly with executive leadership on strategic product direction, prioritization, and organizational product initiativesLead cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product Design, Curriculum, QA, Product Operations, and Customer Success teamsServe as the primary Product Manager and decision-maker for owned products during planning, development, and release executionCoordinate effectively across teams to improve communication, reduce ambiguity, and maintain delivery momentumEnsure alignment between user experience goals, instructional integrity, and technical implementationInfluence cross-functional decision-making and product direction across teams without direct management authorityPartner closely with organizational leadership to support high-priority product initiatives and long-term product evolutionPartner closely with Product Design and Engineering teams to shape cohesive, intuitive, and scalable product experiencesIdentify opportunities for reusable workflows, shared product structures, and operational efficiencies across productsContribute to improved product consistency, maintainability, and scalability across the broader platform ecosystemPromote thoughtful product decisions grounded in both user experience and long-term product sustainabilityContribute to broader organizational product improvements through scalable workflows, reusable patterns, and cross-product operational alignmentIdentify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and maintainability across product ecosystemsAuthor and maintain Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), workflows, acceptance criteria, release documentation, and feature specificationsParticipate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, and product reviewsEnsure product releases are thoroughly validated, high quality, and aligned with customer expectationsMonitor post-release product performance and drive continuous improvements based on feedback and usage insightsGather and synthesize customer feedback, educator insights, usage patterns, and internal stakeholder inputEnsure products support authentic educator and student workflows while maintaining instructional effectivenessPartner with Curriculum and Academic teams to align product functionality with instructional goals and standards requirementsRepresent the voice of the user in cross-functional planning and prioritization discussionsSkillsBachelor's degree in Product Management, Education, Business, Technology, UX, or a related field5–8 years of experience in product management, UX/product strategy, SaaS products, or related disciplinesDemonstrated success owning products through multiple release cyclesExperience managing multiple complex products or workflows simultaneouslyStrong product judgment and independent decision-making capabilityProven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through deliveryStrong communication, organizational, and collaboration skillsStrong understanding of workflow design, user experience, and scalable product systemsA history of contributing to K–12 educational technology or instructional productsUnderstanding of the specific workflows, daily challenges, and strategic priorities of teachers, school administrators, and district leadersExperience working within workflow-heavy SaaS platforms or multi-product ecosystemsBackground in UX, interaction design, or product systems thinkingFamiliarity with Agile product development environmentsExperience balancing rapid execution with long-term product sustainabilityFamiliarity with psychometric concepts, such as Item Response Theory (IRT) or Knowledge Space Theory is a plus, as we explore future directions for student mastery modelingInterested in the impact of generative AI on EdTech and experience with generative AI
