The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to oversee product development from concept to launch.ResponsibilitiesYou will embed within a product squad and partner with engineers, product managers, researchers, and data scientists to oversee the user experience of a product from concept to launch — and then continue to improve it after releaseYou will understand company and team goals focused on revenue generation through our unique ad product “Quests”, and drive concepts and decisions in service of reaching those goals and milestonesYou will present your designs to the team and the greater organization to build consensus and drive alignment around your workYou will create wire-frames, beautiful mockups, amazing prototypes, and help implement your designs to pixel perfectionYou will test, learn, and iterate on everything you do alongside partnersYou will help maintain and commit to our Design pattern libraryYou will be an active, participatory member of the Discord Design team, and help foster a culture of designSkills5+ years experience designing and shipping a web/app product for a variety of devices and platformsYou have direct experience in, or a strong passion for, combining business acumen, systems thinking, and design craft (while being mindful of Brand) to create compelling advertising experiences that serve our users as well as our publisher partnersYou have been the design lead for a squad, feature, initiative, or end-to-end project and are comfortable making design decisions, leading discussion, and communicating out to the wider organizationYou are an active design collaborator - giving feedback in critique, sharing knowledge, and supporting and empowering your design teammatesYou have strong product thinking and vision.
