They are seeking a Senior POS Engineer to lead the design and development of their point of sale and retail technology platform, driving technical strategy and mentoring engineers.ResponsibilitiesLead the technical design and architecture of point of sale systems, inventory management, payment processing, and retail operations platformsDevelop full-stack solutions using Java backend services and React-based frontend applicationsArchitect and implement AI agentic systems to enhance retail operations, customer engagement, and business intelligenceMentor and guide a team of software engineers, establishing best practices for code quality, system design, and technical excellenceCollaborate with product, design, and stakeholder teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsDefine and lead the adoption of emerging technologies, frameworks, and architectural patternsEnsure system performance, reliability, and security across multi-tenant retail environmentsSkills8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 5+ years in full-stack developmentDeep expertise in Java (Spring Boot, microservices architecture) and React (modern hooks, state management, performance optimization)Extensive hands-on experience building point of sale systems, retail platforms, or commerce solutions — this is a hard gate requirementDemonstrated experience designing and implementing distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIsStrong understanding of database design (relational and NoSQL), caching strategies, and query optimizationProven track record of technical leadership, code review, and mentoring junior engineersExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound architectural decisions under uncertaintyStrong communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersSignificant experience with AI agentic development — designing, deploying, and optimizing autonomous AI agents for business workflowsCompany OverviewKitestring Technical Services is an information technology company that specializes in technical architecture and design services.
