[Remote] Senior Payroll Specialist

The role involves ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, maintaining accuracy in payroll calculations, and addressing any identified payroll issues.
Responsibilities
⢠Process complex payrolls while ensuring compliance with provincial laws and union requirements
⢠Maintain accuracy in all wage calculations, withholdings, deductions, and changes
⢠Reconcile payroll and identify risks to prevent issues with accuracy and timeliness
⢠Make recommendations and take action to address identified payroll issues
⢠Ensure compliance with federal, local, state, wage, and hour laws
⢠Review payroll processes to align with company philosophy and recommend internal control or efficiency enhancements
⢠Create and run requested reports, including year-end data, union fringes, GL data for both US and Canada
⢠Identify and implement union updates affecting payroll configuration
⢠Maintain required payroll files and records
⢠Assist with internal and external audits
⢠Complete bank and tax reconciliations by payroll, quarter, and year
⢠Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
