[Remote] Senior Patent Attorney / Patent Agent

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Elevate Flexible Legal Resourcing is looking for a Senior Patent Attorney or Patent Agent to work with a global manufacturing and technology leader. The role involves leading patent prosecution, managing outside counsel, and driving patent strategy in collaboration with the Chief IP Counsel. Responsibilities • Lead and execute U.S. and international patent prosecution across multiple patent families • Draft and review patent applications, amendments, responses, continuations, and reissue applications • Act as the internal “claims jockey” , ensuring a strong, defensible claim strategy aligned with business objectives • Manage and oversee outside prosecution counsel , providing detailed direction and reviewing work product at a senior level • “Ride over the top” of outside counsel to ensure quality, consistency, and strategic alignment • Set and drive patent strategy at the family and portfolio level in close collaboration with the Chief IP Counsel • Support patents that are being litigated or prepared with litigation in mind (no courtroom work required) • Identify opportunities to strengthen high-value assets through continuation practice and strategic filings • Move quickly, take direction well, and operate with minimal oversight in a dynamic environment Skills • Patent Attorney (USPTO - registered) or highly experienced Patent Agent • Technical background in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering • Significant experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications • Strong command of claim drafting and prosecution strategy • Experience managing outside counsel and reviewing prosecution work at a senior level • Ability to operate strategically while also executing hands-on drafting and prosecution work • Exposure to software-related inventions • Prior experience at a top patent-holding or technology company • Law firm background with substantial patent drafting experience • Direct involvement in at least one high-value, strategic patent or patent family • Experience working with patents that were asserted, licensed, or central to company strategy Benefits • Curated training suite to enhance and develop your skills • Hands-on support • Networking opportunities • Accessing the most up-to-date resources Company Overview • ElevateFlex (flexible legal resourcing) and Elevate (the law company) create a unique combination.
