[Remote] Senior Patent Agent/Scientific Advisor (In-House)

They are seeking a Senior Patent Agent/Scientific Advisor to provide IP support and counseling for their clinical and pre-clinical programs, analyze pharmaceutical patent applications, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance their patent portfolio. Responsibilities • Provide support (and lead as needed) patent prosecution for multiple international IP portfolios • Analyze scientific references and advise regarding claim strategy • Track internal programs and developments, gather data, and advance portfolio growth • Collaborate with outside counsel in ensuring maximization of patent coverage • Review planned publications and disclosures • Support diligence and litigation Skills • Degree in chemistry, pharmacology, or similar • USPTO Registration • Law firm and/or in-house experience • Ability to think strategically and operate within an agile company and team framework • Must possess a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude and be able to work seamlessly across the organization • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated understanding of scientific concepts and ability to translate technical language into laymen's terms • The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position • The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance • Movement through sites and labs may occasionally be required as employee may need to visit these environments • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus • Visual acuity is required to read and produce accurate materials • Use of keyboards and cellular devices • PhD preferred Company Overview • Praxis Precision Medicines is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company translating genetic insights into the development of therapies for central nervous system disorders characterized by neuronal imbalance.
