[Remote] Senior Network Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to maintain and optimize firewall and VPN architectures, automate network management, and troubleshoot complex networking issues.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and optimize the complex firewall and VPN architectures that enable our security products to actively shield and defend our customersUse Python and modern automation frameworks to build a network that manages itself. You’ll replace manual repetition with robust, testable codeTake point on complex Layer 2/Layer 3 and dynamic routing (BGP) challenges. You are the final point of escalation who identifies the root cause and implements a permanent fixContinuously evaluate and improve our network architecture to increase performance, security, and stabilitySkills10+ years of experience in network engineeringExperience performance tuning Linux systems, particularly related to networkingExperience with networking concepts and debugging tools tcpdump/wiresharkKnowledge of basic networking including L2 and L3 fundamentals, stateful devices (firewalls, proxies), etcUnderstanding of basic protocols (LACP, LLDP, ARP, ND, IP (v4/v6), TCP, UDP, BFD, HTTP, SMTP, TFTP, IKE/ESP, TLS)Familiarity with networking concepts like dynamic routing (OSPF, iBGP/eBGP, filter-based forwarding, rpm/event scripts), ISP/IX full table peering and multi-ISP environmentsExperience working with any/all of Nautobot, Telegraf/InfluxDB/Grafana, Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana, and other automation and monitoring toolsExperience with any/all of Juniper (especially QFX5K based EVPN environments), VMware NSX-T, F5 BIG-IP (primary focus on SSLO), Palo Alto NGFW and PanoramaFamiliarity with issues surrounding application layer proxying of network protocolsPython application development knowledge and experienceProven ability to learn quickly and solve significant problems with minimal directionWillingness to perform deep research and/or reverse engineer poorly documented standardsCan operate in a closed private hosted environment without access to public cloud toolsImpeccable troubleshooting skills and ability to rapidly understand the basic design and operation of new systemsMust possess the highest level of personal integrity, value team success over individual achievement, and enjoy working on a fully remote team in a very high tech environmentExperience working with any/all of Nautobot, Telegraf/InfluxDB/Grafana, Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana, and other automation and monitoring tools are strongly preferredBachelors degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math is preferredBenefits100% remote roleCompany OverviewTrinity Cyber invents technology to solve the most difficult cyber security challenges.
