[Remote] Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer will manage and maintain network infrastructure, serve as a technical architect for engineering teams, and promote best practices in network design while mentoring service desk technicians.ResponsibilitiesManage, monitor, and maintain our network infrastructure, including Starlink, Meraki switches/WAP, Palo Alto firewalls/VPN, AWS VPC, and AWS Transit GatewayServe as a technical architect and consultant to other engineering teams by assisting them with network design and troubleshooting in a microservices & container-based environment (AWS, Kubernetes)Work with IT leadership on projects, identify new products & solutions, and research solutionsPromote good network design practices by emphasizing Secure & compliant implementations, Redundancy/high availability, and AutomationMentor and train service desk technicians to help them provide level 1 and 2 supportAct as the technical escalation point for network issuesConfigure, harden, and patch network devices & services according to security best practices and recommendationsMonitor security alerts and investigate security incidentsMaintain technical documentation about the systems you manageCommunicate with stakeholders by keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of upcoming changes, or scheduled downtimeParticipate in on-call support rotationDuties will be primarily focused on Network administration, with backup provided to the systems engineering colleagues for Windows and Linux server administrationSkills5+ years of experience managing on-prem & cloud network environmentsExperience in network design and troubleshooting in a cloud-based microservices environment (AWS, Kubernetes)Expert-level knowledge of enterprise network protocols & platforms such as IPSec, VPN, DNS, SNMP, OSPF, BGP, AWS VPC, Security Groups, peering, and routingDeep understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies and how they impact network performance and designAbility to manage an integrated cloud-based (AWS) and physical office-based infrastructureStrong understanding of network security requirements & best practices, and ability to analyze & respond to security incidentsHands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, including Wireshark, tcpdump, Fiddler, PRTG, Nagios, NewRelic, Grafana, Thousandeyes, Foxpass, and nmapMid-level Windows and Linux server administration capabilitiesExperience writing and documenting detailed project proposalsExperience working with vendors to solve issues, discuss roadmaps, and implement improvementsAbility to adapt and solve problems in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal & communication skills, and ability to collaborate with othersAbility to travel up to 25%Industry certifications a plus (Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE/PCNSA, Network+)Company OverviewBlinkRx is a prescription access platform that connects patients to branded medications, ensuring transparent pricing and home delivery.
