This role involves building and delivering hybrid mobile applications for secure and high-quality digital assessment experiences, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance.ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver high-quality native mobile applications (iOS and Android) using modular, component-driven architecturesTranslate product requirements into well-structured, testable mobile components, driving features from concept to productionBuild and evolve applications using Swift (iOS) and/or Kotlin (Android), integrating with OS-level and device capabilities (e.g., permissions, networking, device features)Prototype and validate new ideas quickly while maintaining clean, extensible codebasesContribute to shared mobile patterns, components, and documentation to improve consistency and reuseOptimize applications for performance, reliability, and security across devices and environmentsCollaborate in Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to sprint planning, execution, and deliveryParticipate in code reviews and design discussions, helping maintain strong engineering standardsPartner with product, security, and platform teams to deliver secure, reliable mobile experiencesTroubleshoot and resolve production issues, including device-specific and OS-level challengesFollow established CI/CD, testing, and DevOps practices for mobile application deliveryStay current with mobile platforms (iOS, Android), OS capabilities, and secure application designShare knowledge and contribute to improving team practices and engineering qualitySkills5+ years of experience building and shipping native mobile applications (iOS and Android)Strong proficiency in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin/Android SDK, with solid understanding of mobile platform fundamentalsExperience building applications using modular, component-driven architecturesExperience integrating applications with OS-level and device capabilities (e.g., permissions, networking, device features)Familiarity with desktop platforms (macOS, Windows, ChromeOS) and cross-environment behaviorFamiliarity with building cloud-connected mobile applications on popular platforms such as AWS, GCP and AzureExperience with deploying mobile applications in Apple AppStore, Google Play storeExperience working with infrastructure as codeFamiliarity with observability and monitoring (logs, metrics, alerts) for production systemsExperience with React, TypeScript, or modern web technologies, particularly in support of cross-platform or hybrid applicationsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong collaboration skillsStrong problem-solving ability, curiosity, and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologiesBachelor's degree in computer science or related field (preferred)A passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven workCuriosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and comfort with learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactivelyClear and concise communication skills, written and verbalA learner's mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receiving timely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user inputA drive for impact and excellence: solving complex problems, making data-informed decisions, prioritizing what matters most, and continuously improving through learning, user input, and external benchmarkingA collaborative and empathetic approach: working across differences, fostering trust, and contributing to a culture of shared successAuthorization to work in the United StatesCompany OverviewCollege Board is a not-for-profit organization that clears a path for all students to own their future through the Advanced Placement Program, the SAT, Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy, BigFuture, and more.
