[Remote] Senior Mobile Engineer

The Senior Mobile Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing features for mobile apps used by hotel staff and guests, ensuring high quality and performance in the user experience.ResponsibilitiesOwn the design, development, and release of features in Canary’s first‑party staff and guest mobile appsShip high‑quality UI and product flows on iOS or Android with a focus on reliability, accessibility, and performancePartner with Product and Design to scope, sequence, and deliver customer‑impacting workCollaborate with Backend and Platform teams to define mobile‑server contracts, error handling, and observabilityEstablish and improve release processes, feature flags, and crash/regression monitoringImprove code quality through testing, automation, and thoughtful architectureParticipate in code reviews and mentor other engineersDrive operational excellence including monitoring, logging, crash analytics, and on‑call readinessSkills5+ years building production mobile apps on iOS or Android, with deep expertise in Swift or KotlinProven experience taking features from spec to ship in a customer‑facing mobile productStrong grasp of mobile fundamentals: networking, concurrency, persistence, security, and performance optimizationComfortable with platform UI frameworks (SwiftUI/UIKit or Jetpack Compose/Views) and modern app architectureExperience with mobile CI/CD, distribution, and crash analytics (Xcode Cloud, fastlane, Gradle/Bitrise, Firebase Crashlytics, or similar)Quality mindset: unit and UI testing, automation, and observability best practicesExcellent written and verbal communication; able to work autonomously with Product and DesignSelf‑starter who thrives in ambiguity and ships business impactExperience on both iOS and Android, or cross‑platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter, KMP)Familiarity with consuming third‑party SDKs in a host app at scaleBackend familiarity in Python and cloud services such as AWSHospitality, B2B, or SaaS backgroundBenefitsCanary Days: As a company we want to ensure that the team has time to recharge.
