[Remote] Senior Mechanical Engineer (Power Generation / Gas-to-Power)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Candid Intelligence is building the AI layer for EPCs to automate preconstruction engineering processes. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in power generation and gas-to-power projects to contribute to hands-on engineering and quality assurance of automated outputs.ResponsibilitiesDo real mechanical engineering on our FEL-2 and early-phase delivery work, owning the parts our software can't handle yet so projects shipBe the quality gate on Candid's automated mechanical outputs: catch what's wrong before it reaches a client, and feed it back so the product gets sharperDefine how equipment scope gets developed and validated through FEED on power and gas-to-power projects, and what 'good' looks likeReview and validate mechanical content across equipment datasheets, vendor packages, and discipline handoffsBuild repeatable checks that catch scope gaps and inconsistencies earlyMap where mechanical rework happens, why it happens, and what inputs drive itClarify interface points with Process, Piping, I&C, and ElectricalSeparate the steps that are genuinely repetitive from the ones that need real engineering judgmentHelp define the checks, workflows, and product requirements that let software take on the repetitive parts, with engineers in controlSkills7+ years at a large scale EPC, PMC, owner-operator, or OEM, with most of it on power generation or gas-to-powerDirect experience on combined cycle, simple cycle, gas-to-power, LNG, or cogeneration projects (not refining or petrochem only)You've personally owned mechanical equipment datasheet development and vendor package review through FEEDStrong on rotating and power-plant equipment: gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, pumps, compressors, fans, and balance of plant mechanical (cooling systems, fuel gas conditioning, water treatment)Hands-on with equipment specification to API and ASME (API 610, 611, 612, 617; ASME VIII; B31.1 power piping)Experience coordinating OEM turbine and major equipment packages (GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power, or similar)You spot inconsistencies across datasheets, P&IDs, and vendor packages fastClear understanding of cross-discipline dependenciesYou've felt boxed in by big-company process and you want outComfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats; bias to action over waiting for perfectDiscipline lead or technical authority experienceWork on data center or behind-the-meter power campusesTaking equipment from FEED into procurement and detailed engineeringPackaged or modular systems and skid integrationReal interest in AI and automationBenefitsMeaningful base + equityUnlimited PTO.
