The role involves leading mechanical design for transformers, collaborating with global teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations while driving innovation in mechanical design and cooling technologies.ResponsibilitiesLead the mechanical design and optimization of transformers built for highâpowerâdensity data center environmentsDevelop cooling concepts and validate thermal performance for forcedâair, oilânatural, oilâforced, and hybrid systemsPerform mechanical and thermal analyses, including stress, pressure drop, and serviceability evaluationsCollaborate with global engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems into complete transformer and substation solutionsParticipate in customer design reviews and present mechanical concepts and tradeâoffsSupport issue resolution throughout design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and operationDrive standardization, modularity, and innovation in mechanical design, materials, and cooling technologiesContribute to tender reviews, vendor evaluations, and project executionResponsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelinesSkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Master's preferred10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally with power transformers or data center applicationsExpertise in transformer mechanical systems such as tanks, radiators, piping, and thermal/cooling componentsProficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., CREO or equivalent)Strong knowledge of IEEE/IEC transformer standards and customerâdriven requirementsExperience working within global, crossâfunctional engineering environmentsCompany OverviewHitachi Energy is a renewable energy company that provides energy consulting services.
