[Remote] Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Atlas Connections is partnering with a mission-critical infrastructure company to find a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in data center cooling systems. The role involves leading the mechanical design and controls for complex data center projects, managing designs from concept through commissioning, and ensuring efficiency in mechanical systems.ResponsibilitiesDevelop mechanical system designs for data center cooling, including airflow, chilled water, refrigerant, and HVAC systemsPerform heat load and energy calculations, and analyze energy performance across projects to drive efficiencySize and select major mechanical equipment such as chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, pumps, and air handlersProduce construction documents, schematics, and specifications, and develop sequences of operation for controlsBuild and coordinate Revit models with electrical, structural, and controls disciplines, including clash detection and BIM coordinationInterpret design concepts with engineering staff and translate documentation, quotes, and drawings into buildable cooling designsReview submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings, and revise designs as change orders and client needs evolveCoordinate and support commissioning, including factory witness testing where neededSkillsBachelor's in Mechanical or Architectural EngineeringActive PE certificationDirect data center experience, ideally supporting hyperscale clients6+ years across mechanical design, project planning, construction, and commissioningStrong HVAC systems and controls background, including equipment selection and sizingProficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and ProcoreProven experience leading design across multiple buildingsA producer mindset with the appetite to grow into team leadershipMaster's in Mechanical or Architectural EngineeringCEM or LEED certificationCompany OverviewAtlas Connections offers a unique, hands-on approach to staffing.
