[Remote] Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (REMOTE)

In this role, you will drive technical excellence and manage commissioning activities for mechanical and control systems in mission-critical environments.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping detailed commissioning proposals and scope documents based on client RFPs, design drawings, and specifications while leading pre-commissioning planning sessions with stakeholdersManaging and performing holistic factory and onsite commissioning activities (Level 0 – Level 6) for mechanical and control systems infrastructureExecuting comprehensive commissioning of mission-critical systems including CRAH units, chilled water plants, central cooling plants, dry coolers, liquid cooling systems, advanced server rack containment strategies, and associated controls and monitoring systemsDeveloping system-specific functional performance tests and integrated systems testing protocols that meet industry standards (ASHRAE Guideline 0 or similar)Creating commissioning plans, test procedures, and comprehensive final reports while documenting deficiencies using structured tracking systems and overseeing resolution through substantial completionDirecting cross-functional commissioning teams of 2-8+ engineers and technicians while coordinating with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle from design phase through transition to operationsConducting commissioning training for Owner's operations staff and providing knowledge transfer documentation on larger projectsManaging commissioning schedules, ensuring optimal team utilization, identifying potential failure modes, and developing mitigation strategiesInterpreting project drawings and specifications, identifying design issues, and communicating technical concerns effectively to clients and project teamsSkillsMinimum 7 years of documented experience leading hands-on data center commissioning activities with at least 5 years specifically in data center cooling systems and building monitoring and automation commissioningProven track record leading mechanical and controls commissioning of facilities with power densities exceeding 25kW per rackDeep understanding of cooling plant sequences of operations, redundancy concepts, and their implementation in mission critical designsExperience working in partnership with major cooling equipment manufacturers (JCI, Daikin, Trane, Vertiv, Schneider, etc.)Proficiency in commissioning management software platforms (CxAlloy, ACC, Procore, Bluebeam, and similar)Advanced knowledge of commissioning processes for data center cooling infrastructure and building monitoring and controls platformsExpertise in precision HVAC systems, glycol cooling, and thermal management strategies including liquid cooling applicationsStrong understanding of BAS/DCIM integration, monitoring protocols, and alarm management protocolsAbility to travel 50% annually throughout North America and work in active construction environments, climb ladders, and work in mechanical/electrical rooms with availability for occasional emergency commissioning support and weekend/evening critical testing activitiesBachelor's degree in related technical fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license and PMP certificationsIndustry recognized commissioning certification (currently or pursuing)Experience working on hyperscale data center projects (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta, etc.)Benefits401(k) plan with matching company contributionsComprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision CarePaid parental leave at 100% of salaryPaid Time Off and Company HolidaysEarly access to earned wages through Daily PayCompany OverviewWe’re a leading professional services firm that specializes in real estate and investment management.
