The role involves collaborating with game designers and engineers to ensure accurate implementation of game mechanics and providing feedback for improvements.ResponsibilitiesDefine the mathematical profile of the game, including the game’s balance, volatility, and player experienceCreate and maintain the game’s PAR sheets and other math documentation, using both Excel and simulationsWork closely with the Game Designer, prototyping team, and engineering team to ensure the math is implemented accurately and follows the overall game designPlaytest and iterate on your game’s math and mechanics with an eye toward creating the best player experience possibleCollaborate with other mathematicians to provide gameplay feedback and recommendations for improvement on each other’s gamesRegularly play competitors’ games in the iGaming and land-based spaces to stay abreast of industry trends and new mechanicsSet and share best practices, tools, and workflows within the math teamMentor new junior mathematicians as our studio growsSkills5+ years of experience developing math models for real-money slot games for iGaming or land-based marketsDegree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experienceStrong expertise using Excel to model probabilities and perform data analysisFamiliarity programming in C++, C#, or PythonExcellent written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across the globeUp-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging game mechanics, and player expectationsBe comfortable moving between multiple projects while maintaining a high attention to detailBring strong organization and structure to a fast-moving environmentHave a passion for problem solving in complex systemsObsess over detail and refinementProvide, accept, and act on feedback constructivelyCompany OverviewARRISE is a software development and services company delivering end-to-end digital solutions.
