[Remote] Senior Manager, Water Strategy

The Senior Manager of Water Strategy will spearhead wet utility infrastructure development and execute sustainability initiatives, collaborating with multi-functional teams to secure water and wastewater solutions for data center projects.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and implement strategy for water assessment, commercial certainty, and compliance across a portfolio of data center projectsDevelop customer and external-facing water narrative for Rowan to support sustainability and high-quality digital infrastructure goalsMonitor external factors that could affect water (i.e., tracking local and state water policy, water quality issues, legal rights/issues) and develop strategy and position to address risksAssess water risk and delivery feasibility for portfolio of potential data center sites from site selection through constructionManage external relationships with local water authorities and partners in prospective data center locations to ensure sufficient supply, rights, and to conduct necessary diligencePartner with the Directors of Development and project teams to prepare for and conduct commercial negotiations and conversations to secure necessary water rights and infrastructure for all data center sitesFacilitate and drive communication and cross-team coordination between internal and external water stakeholders including Development, Engineering, Design, Construction, and OperationsOversee compliance with water withdrawals and ensure compliance with end-user agreements (flow rate, installation of monitoring and operational equipment where required)Organize, review and evaluate water and wastewater monitoring data to compare against agreements, identify anomalies, and establish best practicesImplement Rowan’s water stewardship program in collaboration with Rowan’s Sustainability lead and project teamsSkillsBachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or similar7+ years professional experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projectsTechnical expertise related to industrial water use and wastewater discharge, water efficiency techniques, as well as water policy and permittingExperience with water and wastewater infrastructure construction and operations for data centers strongly preferredExperience working with water and wastewater utilities in the United StatesExperience managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and consultantsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, and highly cross-functional environmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPreferred experience with NPDES permits, industrial pre-treatment permits, and decentralized wastewater systemsBenefitsOffers BonusHybrid working environmentTeam building and educational opportunitiesGenerous benefits package including robust health benefits and a 401(k) company contributionUnlimited PTOCompetitive compensation and bonus planCompany OverviewRowan Digital Infrastructure designs to deliver low-cost net zero solutions to green data centers It was founded in 2020, and is headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA, with a workforce of 51-200 employees.
