[Remote] Senior Manager, Finance - Commissions

The Senior Manager, Finance - Commissions will lead the accounting and operational oversight of sales commission programs, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606 while collaborating with various departments.ResponsibilitiesPartner with Sales Operations, Revenue, FP&A, Legal, Payroll, and HR to operationalize compensation plans and ensure alignment between plan design and accounting treatmentProvide excellent customer service in resolving commission inquiries, disputes, and escalations in a timely and professional mannerTranslate complex compensation plans into clear accounting outcomes and operational processesLead the administration and optimization of the Varicent incentive compensation system, including configuration, data integrity, user access management, and ownership of ITGC controls to ensure SOX complianceOversee and optimize the incentive compensation management platform, Varicent, ensuring data integrity and scalabilityLead process improvement initiatives to reduce manual calculations and improve automation across the commission lifecycleDrive system enhancements and integrations to support growth and international expansionOversee the monthly and quarterly commission accounting process, including accruals, amortization of capitalized commissions, and reconciliation of commission related balance sheet accountsEnsure accurate and timely recording of commission expense in compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606Quarterly and annual reporting requirementsUtilize advanced NetSuite GL functionality to streamline month-end close, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance financial visibility across entitiesLead, coach, and develop a team of three commission accounting professionals, including team members in international locationsEstablish clear goals, performance expectations, and development plansFoster a collaborative, accountable, and customer focused team cultureLead special projects and cross functional initiatives impacting the commissions functionDesign, maintain, and enhance internal controls over commission calculations, data inputs, and accounting entries in a SOX compliant environmentPartner with Internal Audit and external auditors to support audit requests and walkthroughsContinuously evaluate processes to mitigate risk and strengthen control effectivenessSkills8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience in commission accounting within a SaaS or subscription based environmentPrevious experience with system implementation and user requirement definitions3+ years of people management experience, including coaching and developing high performing teamsStrong technical knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and capitalization and amortization of sales commissionsExperience working in a publicly traded company with SOX compliance requirementsExperience with incentive compensation management tools such as Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or similar platformsDemonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead cross functional initiatives and system implementationsStrong customer service mindset and ability to partner effectively with Sales and executive stakeholdersExcellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non technical audiencesBenefitsProfessional development opportunities supported by a community of experienced professionalsReimbursement for training and continuing education to help you stay ahead in your careerComplimentary lunches and fully stocked kitchensComprehensive wellness and flexible time off programsFamily-formation benefits and support during your family-building journeyPaid volunteer time offDonation matching program for the causes you care aboutCompany OverviewIntapp is a provider of industry-specific, cloud-based software solutions that enable connected professional and financial services.
