[Remote] Senior Legal Counsel

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide broad legal support across various domains including commercial, compliance, litigation, and M&A. The role involves balancing business goals with legal risk management and building scalable legal processes while collaborating with stakeholders across the company.ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, ensuring business objectives and legal protections alignHelp to oversee compliance programs and implement training for internal teams to uphold regulatory and legal obligationsCollaborate with external counsel on active litigation, guide internal litigation support, and develop strategies for risk mitigationPlay a pivotal role in due diligence, transaction documentation, and post-merger integration activitiesDevelop and manage workflows to streamline our legal processes, from matter management, contract lifecycle management, to budgeting and vendor relationsSkillsJ.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state barMinimum of 4 years of experience at a public company legal department or equivalent in-house experience preferredThe ability to recognize true risk and navigate your business partners to practical solutionsThe ability to close deals quickly, efficiently, and in a way that promotes the legal team as a strategic asset to the companyProven ability to see projects through from concept to completionStrong interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and consensus across different teamsDetail oriented yet flexible enough to adapt in a fast paced, evolving environmentDemonstrated experience in commercial contracting, corporate governance, and complianceConfident communication style. Clear, concise, and comfortable delivering messages to senior leadershipCreativity in problem-solving.
