[Remote] Senior Instructional Designer

The Senior Instructional Designer will create engaging learning experiences to help users master Workato's capabilities, collaborating with various teams to ensure effective training and continuous improvement of instructional content.ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Design: Develop and maintain learning paths, courses, and microlearning modules focused on Workato products (e.g. Agent Studio, Enterprise MCP, API Platform)Content Development: Create high-quality instructional materials (videos, e-learning, documentation, job aids) that explain Workato product concepts, features, and best practices through strong storytelling, learning flow, and user engagementProduct Enablement: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure training aligns with customer lifecycle, GTM strategies, product capabilities and roadmapScenario-Based Learning: Design practical labs and real-world scenarios (e.g., building and managing Genies, configuring skills, building data orchestration workflows) to drive practical understandingAssessment & Certification: Develop robust assessments, knowledge checks, and performance-based evaluation materials that measure learner proficiencyCross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and SMEs as a trusted partner who can clarify technical requirements and ensure alignment with roadmap and customer needsContinuous Improvement: Gather learner feedback and analytics to iterate and improve instructional content, as well as contribute to standards, best practices, and process improvements within the teamAgentic Thought Leadership: Stay current with AI, automation, and agentic trends to ensure Workatoβs training is innovative and market-leadingSkillsProven experience designing technical learning content for SaaS, automation, or AI productsAbility to quickly learn and design learning content around complex technical concepts (AI agents, knowledge bases, APIs, data orchestration)Skilled in authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe CC, etc.) and multimedia productionExperience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teamsDesign evaluation mechanisms to capture data and feedback to drive continuous improvementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAt least 6+ years of instructional design experience, including curriculum development, e-learning, and multimedia content creationExperience with low-code/no-code platforms, automation, or AI-driven productsFamiliarity with Workato or similar integration/automation toolsKnowledge of adult learning theory and instructional best practicesExperience creating digital media (e.g. simulations, animated video, graphics, etc.)Experience developing training for multiple modalities (virtual, hands-on/experiential, instructor led, synchronous/asynchronous) for a variety of audiencesCompany OverviewWorkato is an automation and orchestration platform designed to connect applications, data sources, and workflows across an organization.
