[Remote] Senior Grants Sourcing Consultant

The Ohio State University is seeking a Senior Grants Sourcing Consultant to act as a technical leader on complex fiscal and compliance work for the Grants Compliance Teams. The role involves conducting bid processes, managing procurement activities, and developing supplier relationships, particularly with small and disadvantaged businesses.ResponsibilitiesActs as technical leader demonstrating a high degree of knowledge in the overall field with recognized expertise in specific sourcing areasConducts bid processes, approves all bids/waiversCoordinates with staff, University Strategic Sourcing, and Health System Supply Chain to conduct bids and establish University-wide contracts in accordance with UG/sponsor requirementsReviews existing contracts for compliance with UG/sponsor requirements and identifies compliant/non-compliant contracts to staffLeads and manages complex procurement activities (e.g. FOD MOUs for construction projects, ODHE/OAKS/Controlling Board requests)Serves as Small Business Liaison OfficerMonitors subcontracting activities, prepares and submits reports to federal agenciesDevelops new supplier business relationships particularly in the area of small and disadvantaged suppliersPromotes utilization of prime suppliers, contract suppliers, small and disadvantaged businessWorks with PI/SPO to prepare/monitor acquisition plans and small business subcontracting plansAssists in developing work guidelines and proceduresContinuously reviews work processes and recommends improvementsIdentifies novel opportunities to meet the sourcing needs of the University research communityGathers statistics and monitors department performance with respect to bids/waivers and small business subcontracting goalsKeeps management updated on performanceCoordinates with Supervisors to ensure alignment and implementation of best practicesSkillsBachelor's degree in business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience4 years of relevant experienceDemonstrated proficiency with electronic research tools and financial management systemsExtensive experience in research administration in a university settingExtensive experience conducting bids effectively4-8 years of relevant experienceCRA, CFRA, CPSM or other related certificationProven work experience managing processesExperience with sourcing software, preferably AribaBenefitsThis is a remote position, with residency in Ohio strongly desired.Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.Company OverviewThe Ohio State University is a public research university based in Columbus, Ohio.
