[Remote] Senior Financial Analyst

Trean Corporation is a company focused on insurance and other operations, seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support financial planning and analysis. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis, particularly in relation to insurance-specific metrics.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisAssist with long-range planning and scenario analysisDevelop and maintain complex financial models to provide senior leadership with guidance and recommendations for strategic planning, change initiatives and overall enterprise profitabilityMonitor forecast accuracy, understand drivers of variances, and provide insightful commentary & analysisPartner with underwriting, actuarial, and operations teams to evaluate performance drivers and identify opportunities for improvementPrepare monthly and quarterly management reporting packages, including variance analysis and executive summariesServe as a liaison for the Finance Department, creating collaborative relationships and ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives across the organizationSupport regulatory and statutory reporting requirements as neededPerform ad-hoc business analyses as needed and clearly articulate findings to senior leadershipSkillsBachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related field7+ years of financial analysis and budgeting experience, preferably within insurance or financial servicesExpert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to extract raw data, manipulate, and format into impactful models and dashboards that help drive decision-makingHigh familiarity with other Microsoft Office suite products, especially PowerPointExperience creating clear high-level presentations, especially for the Board of DirectorsStrong understanding of insurance concepts (e.g., underwriting, claims, reserves, loss ratios)Proven ability to optimize processes, manage change initiatives, and execute key strategic projectsExperience with financial systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI, or similar)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExceptional financial analysis and financial modeling skillsetKnowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting and reporting in the insurance industryExperience working in highly cross-functional teams/organizationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and comfortability working in ambiguous situationsMBA or CFAExperience in financial services and/or insurance industryExperience working with actuarial data or collaborating with actuarial teamsExperience in data visualization and dashboarding toolsBenefitsThis is a full-time position with benefits.Company OverviewTrean Corporation is a reinsurance firm that specializes in reinsurance brokerage, insurance management, and insurance consulting services.
