[Remote] Senior Field Service Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing Systems

German American Bank is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to support highly customized electron beam welding and additive manufacturing systems throughout North America. The role involves hands-on startup support, advanced troubleshooting, customer training, and collaboration with engineering teams in both the U.S. and Germany.ResponsibilitiesSupport installation, startup, and commissioning activities for electron beam welding and additive manufacturing systemsDiagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, controls, vacuum, and electromechanical issuesProvide technical support and troubleshooting both remotely and on-siteServe as a key technical resource during customer escalationsDeliver customer training and technical guidanceSupport root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actionsWork closely with engineering and project teams in Germany and the U.SContribute to technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge-sharing initiativesSupport continuous improvement of field service and technical support processesSkills5+ years of experience in Field Service, Startup, Applications Engineering, Technical Support, or a related technical roleStrong troubleshooting skills involving complex industrial equipmentExperience supporting electrical, mechanical, automation, or electromechanical systemsAbility to work independently in customer-facing environmentsStrong communication and training capabilitiesWillingness to travel approximately 25–40%Experience with vacuum systems, high-voltage equipment, semiconductor equipment, laser processing systems, additive manufacturing equipment, machine tools, industrial furnaces, or similar technologiesFamiliarity with PLC diagnostics and industrial automation systems (Siemens experience is a plus)Experience working within multinational or German engineering organizationsExperience mentoring or supporting junior technical personnelBenefitsOvertime15 days PTO401(k) with company matchBlue Cross Blue Shield medical coverage including dentalVisa sponsorship may be considered on a case-by-case basisCompany OverviewGerman American Bank serves Southern Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio with banking, investments and wealth management services for business and retail customers.
