[Remote] Senior Epic Analyst – Community Connect Iowa CC Optime, Anesthesia, Stork, Device Integration

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Senior Epic Analyst to provide technical leadership and support for the Epic System software related to various applications including Optime and Anesthesia. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, managing application design and implementation, and ensuring system maintenance and support.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with subject matter experts to analyze workflows and develop application designResearch system solutionsCreate functional/technical specifications for system build and complex integrated systemsLead design and analysisDevelop technical design and procedures for new or revised applicationsLeads the review and analysis of system problems to identify solutions and/or make appropriate referralsDemonstrate features to the user community and assess applicability, impact and valueConfigure and customize applicationsReview the application build for efficiency, completeness, and correctnessUnderstand and adhere to Change Management policies and proceduresUnderstand and adhere to IT Security policies and proceduresCompletion of related Epic Certifications/accreditations or eligible to obtain and maintain relevant Epic certifications/accreditations specific to your roleGuide development and maintenance of testing scripts for execution during implementations, special updates and system upgrade cyclesResolve complex system problems through participation in 24 x 7 on-call rotationsProposal software maintenance proceduresEvaluate system upgrades to identify new functionalityDevelop standards for documentation to ensure recovery capability, as well as satisfactory and stable performance of the platform(s) and all applications and processesLead staff in development and maintenance downtime workflows and proceduresTravel to customer sites as needed to support application implementation, upgrade, optimization and/or training/conferencesDevelop work plan and time schedules for computing projects including outlining phases, identifying personnel, and computing equipment requirements. Monitor progress and revise schedule and plan as neededIdentify business system solution requirements by analyzing work processes and operations; evaluate business and information systems functionalityServes as the liaison for technical staff, users, vendors, and other stakeholdersAnalyze, document, and recommend business process design in applicable areasGuide staff in documenting system procedure and guidelines for users, as well as programs and program modificationsAssist in developing ideas for presentations to senior management. Build and foster relationshipsProvide leadership in multiple areas of expertiseProvide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching, and counseling to assure outcomes are achievedMay provide administrative and/or functional supervision over assigned staffSkillsBachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experienceExperience in the development and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance workflow processes, preferably healthcare, typically 5-7 years of experience for a Senior Application Developer roleExperience acting as the primary contact for the support, configuration, and development of at least one enterprise application or area of functionality, preferably healthcare relatedExperience working with application owners and/or vendors to define system requirements, integration requirements and understand business needsDemonstrated experience working with end-users to define system requirements, understand business needs and convert business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex integrated systems buildDemonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project managementAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staffCompletion of related Epic Certifications/accreditations or eligible to obtain and maintain relevant Epic certifications/accreditations specific to your roleExperience supporting an EHR in an ambulatory or hospital settingExperience with any of the following workflows: surgery, procedural suites, sedation in/out of OR, labor & delivery, perinatal, patient consenting, OR charging, supply chain, and device integrationEpic certification/accreditation related but not limited to the following: Optime, Anesthesia, StorkDemonstrated ability using tools for customizing vendor application softwareDemonstrated knowledge of integrated system software solutionsExperience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projectsStrong problem-solving skills and experience adhering to regulatory requirements with respect to system configurationProven ability to write application test scriptsBenefitsThe University of Iowa offers a generous benefits package, including 24 days paid vacation per year to start and paid sick leave.Company OverviewOn our beautiful campus spanning the Iowa River, our faculty and staff enjoy access to an array of cultural, educational, and recreational activities.
