[Remote] Senior Enterprise BI and Analytics Analyst - Financial Operations

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Senior Enterprise BI and Analytics Analyst to serve as a senior analytics subject matter expert. This role is responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable analytics solutions, leading requirements discovery, and improving data accessibility and insights across the organization.ResponsibilitiesLead complex analytics initiatives by translating business requirements into scalable data models, transformation logic, and analytics solutionsConduct advanced requirements analysis and develop detailed functional specifications for enterprise dashboards, analytics applications, and BI reporting solutionsPartner with Workday reporting teams to translate operational system data into enterprise analytics models and curated datasets within the BI environmentDesign calculations, metrics, and transformation logic to ensure consistent and accurate analytics across reporting platformsPerform complex data analysis and root cause investigation across multiple enterprise systems and data sourcesIndependently troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues involving enterprise applications, data pipelines, and reporting environmentsCollaborate with internal teams and external partnersâincluding the Workday Solution Centerâto investigate and resolve system or data integration challengesWork closely with operational leaders, BI developers, reporting analysts, and data management teams to ensure analytics solutions align with business goals and operational workflowsProvide leadership in analytics design by recommending best practices in data modeling, metric definitions, and data visualization standardsMentor analysts and collaborate with BI developers to improve analytics quality, performance, and scalability; with measurable contributions to team capability and delivery outcomes expected as evidence of effective mentorshipContribute to the design and continuous improvement of enterprise analytics architecture and reporting standardsPartner with departments across MCWâs missions and clinical enterprise to expand and mature the organizationâs analytics footprintSupport and enhance the enterprise BI intake and triage process to improve prioritization and delivery of analytics initiativesAnalyze enterprise reporting usage and recommend improvements to optimize analytics delivery and operational efficiencyWrite advanced SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across enterprise data platformsEnsure high standards for data quality, data governance, and data accuracy in analytics deliverablesFocus on design, development, and maintenance of the enterprise reporting platforms like SSRS, Qlik, and SSAS cubes, rather than operational reports generated directly from transactional systemsDevelop and maintain technical documentation, business logic definitions, and data mapping documentation for analytics solutionsManage multiple concurrent analytics initiatives, balancing competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability; consistently meet agreed-upon timelines and quality deliverables while maintaining transparency and communication with role manager on a regular basisAdapt quickly to evolving business requirements and guide analytics solutions through changing priorities and organizational needsParticipate in enterprise analytics initiatives and cross-functional projects as requiredPerform other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree8 years of experienceAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex data challengesStrong ability to translate complex technical data concepts into meaningful business insightsExcellent interpersonal, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical and functional documentationDemonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced proficiency in SQL and relational databases for data analysis, transformation, and scriptingExperience with enterprise BI technologies including, but not limited to, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Qlik analytics tools or equivalent (for example, Tableau, Power BI)Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Workday and their integration with enterprise analytics platformsUnderstanding of data governance, data quality practices, and enterprise reporting standardsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams; proactively address risks, scope changes to the role manager in a timely mannerStrong organizational and task management skills with attention to detail and qualityBenefitsOutstanding Healthcare Coverage, including but not limited to Health, Vision, and Dental.
