[Remote] Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

The Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer will design motor control panels and systems for material handling equipment, acting as the project lead and technical expert, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.ResponsibilitiesConfer with sales engineers, project managers, customers, and others to discuss and understand project specifications, scope and design requirementsPrepare detailed drawing sets consisting of power feed calculations, 480-volt power schematics, 120-volt control schematics, I/O drawings, field device layouts, PLC layout/design, panel layout/design, and other drawings required to implement the project scope as per contract requirements and ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirementsPrepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipmentOperate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasksInspect, audit and test completed motor control panels for overall sound construction and compliance with all design standards and specificationsSkillsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field7-10+ years of related industry experience in material handling designing systems for customers in the Freight and Parcel IndustryExpert level user of AutoCAD Electrical and related software to develop and create electrical control drawings and schematicsExperienced and knowledgeable of relevant electrical codes including UL508A, NFPA, and related electrical codesComplex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutionsActive Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate timesTroubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about itCritical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsBenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth insurance401kPaid time off10 Company HolidaysProfessional development opportunitiesCompany OverviewAegis Sortation manufactures and integrates end-to-end material handling automation solutions and provides full lifecycle services.
