[Remote] Senior Database Administrator

They are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to architect, administer, and optimize enterprise SQL Server databases, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability while collaborating with IT teams to support business operations.ResponsibilitiesMaintains all enterprise SQL database operations including SQL server updates and patchesMaintains database security and compliance with company, industry and government standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)Reviews current architecture and updates and optimizes all the firm's enterprise database systemsArchitects and implements new database systemsProactively monitors database performance and performs database tuning for optimal performanceTroubleshoots enterprise database servers and related systemsSupports system audits and provides documentation as requiredPlans testing and implementation of DR and backup processes to ensure continuous operationCreates custom queries, data-driven SSRS subscriptions, migration scripts, and executes other tasks as neededSkillsSound understanding of SQL Server technology features and limitationsIn-depth, advanced knowledge of SQL Server database structures, security, storage solutions, virtualization, replication, and clusteringAbility to create performance projections based upon hardware, OS, databases design, query structures and interactions between external systems with the database serversAbility to evaluate and recommend technological changes in the database environment to support business objectivesProficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell)Strong analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate technical details to persons without technical experienceExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to accurately follow documented procedures and a strong aptitude for learning new technologies as they are incorporated into the computing environmentBachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum 8 to 10 years' experience in design, development, administration, and maintenance of enterprise-level MS SQL Server database systemsDemonstrable experience configuring, operating and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server, both on-prem and cloud environmentsDemonstrable experience in database design, creating standards and processes, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, accessibility, scalability and documentation for SQL ServerDemonstrable experience in development of complex queries, SSIS Packages and SSRS reportsBenefitsWe offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits packageOpportunity to work within an innovative and collaborative environmentCompany OverviewGreenberg Traurig, LLP (GT) has approximately 2,650 attorneys in 45 locations in the United States, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
