[Remote] Senior Data Engineering Consultant

They are seeking a highly skilled Data Conversion Specialist responsible for designing, developing, and executing data conversion processes, primarily using SQL Server, to migrate data from legacy systems into their OnCall Records system.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze legacy system data structures and map them to target system schemasCreate and maintain detailed mapping documentation for all conversion processesCollaborate with business analysts and product teams to ensure accurate data transformationWrite, optimize, and maintain SQL Server scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)Experience with cross-platform data manipulation/migration (i.e. XML-> MSSQL, Oracle->MSSQL, etc.)Develop automated processes to streamline data migration and reduce manual interventionConduct test runs of conversion scripts, troubleshoot issues, and refine processes for accuracy and efficiencyPerform rigorous data validation to confirm accuracy and completeness of converted dataIdentify and resolve discrepancies between source and target systemsDocument testing results and maintain audit trails for complianceCommunicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and timelinesProvide regular updates on conversion progress and manage expectations regarding deliverablesAddress customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionallyPlan and execute test runs prior to production migrationCoordinate with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth cutover and minimal disruptionDocument conversion processes, scripts, and validation results for future referenceSkillsProven experience with SQL Server (T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, performance tuning)Strong understanding of data conversion, migration, and ETL processesFamiliarity with Records Management systems and related data structuresExcellent customer communication skills and ability to manage expectationsStrong documentation skills for mapping and process workflowsAbility to analyze complex datasets and ensure data integrityExperience with SSIS or other ETL toolsKnowledge with Azure, Sales Force, and Microsoft TeamsBackground in records management or Public Safety ExperienceCompany OverviewOctave provides mission-critical software that empowers organizations to make informed decisions across every stage of the asset lifecycle.
