[Remote] Senior Data Engineer-Marketing Technologies

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. H&R Block is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about data and has expertise in MarTech skills. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software components and products that support H&R Block business applications, focusing on data solutions and end-to-end pipelines in Azure.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and test enterprise MarTech platforms for data engineering using SQL, Azure Data engineering skills including Azure Data Factory, Databricks/Fabric technologiesProficiency in Azure-based cloud technologies to support data needs, along with working in marketing projects (Adobe Experience Platform and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform)Leverage cutting-edge data technologies, programming languages, and industry-standard coding practices to innovate new features and optimize existing product/marketing functionalitiesDesign, develop, and maintain high-quality software componentsCreate and execute unit tests, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects efficientlyCollaborate with Product, architects and cross-functional teams to align on requirements and implementation strategiesTranslate business and functional requirements into clear technical specifications and product deliverablesParticipate in technical design discussions and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistencyDocument system architecture, design approaches, and development processes for future referenceDevelop and maintain unit test plans and alpha test plans to support product validationStay current with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve design, development, and deployment practicesBe part of a high-impact team that powers data-driven marketing strategies for one of the most recognized brands in the industrySkillsBachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related fieldMinimum five years of recent experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code with below skillsets, SQL, Azure Data engineering skills including Azure Data Factory, Databricks and/or Fabric technologiesDeep knowledge in SQL Server databases, along with expertise in data analysis, data integrationsProficient with AI technologies to enhance day to day activitiesWell-honed troubleshooting skills at various levels of complexityExposure to Marketing platforms (Adobe AEP - CDP, AJO and/or Sales Force Marketing Cloud), AdTechAdobe Experience Cloud (Analytics, Target, Launch) experienceHands on experience with Python and/or .NetExperience in cloud services (Azure data services)BenefitsQualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverageCan participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan)The Employee Assistance Program(virtual) fitness center programsThe associate discount programAre automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident InsuranceReceive Associate Tax Prep benefitCompany OverviewH&R Block is a tax solutions provider that offers tax returns, filings, and advisory services for individuals and businesses.
