[Remote] Senior Data Center Solutions Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Data Center Solutions Engineer to join their pre-sales engineering team and partner with Account Executives on complex infrastructure opportunities. This role involves designing and architecting enterprise data center solutions and engaging directly with customers to assess their business and technical requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesigns customer solutions leveraging technologies from vendors including VMware/Broadcom and alternatives (Nutanix, RedHat, Hyper-V) Dell Technologies (PowerEdge, PowerStore, PowerScale, PowerProtect), Everpure (formerly Pure Storage), Rubrik, Veeam, Cohesity, NetApp, HPE, APC, Eaton, and VertivArchitects complex storage, physical and virtual server, data protection, archiving, and replication solutionsTranslates business and operational requirements into functional and technical solution specificationsResponsible for developing alternative designs to meet customer performance, scalability, and cost objectivesLeads technical discussions and develops product customizations to align technology solutions with customer business objectivesPartners with Structured’s internal teams to assist with pre-sales technical supportLeads pre-sales technical engagements for data center opportunities spanning compute, storage, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), and data protection solutionsSupports opportunities throughout the sales lifecycle from discovery and design through verbal commitment and ensures a smooth transition to project management and delivery teamsResponsible for successfully executing all technical components of the enterprise sales and delivery cycleBuilds and presents technical proposals including professional service statements of work (“SOW”), customer-facing architecture presentations, vendor quote validation, and competitive positioning materialsEffectively communicates Structured’s value proposition through presentations, proposals, and development of collateral, as needed, to support sales and brand awarenessLeverages technical expertise to identify professional services opportunities in the areas of storage/systems, virtualization, data protection, archiving, and replication solutionsInstalls, configures, troubleshoots, and manages storage and systems technologiesWorks with Structured’s customers to identify, remediate, and test solutionsIdentifies and resolves complex technical issues escalated from Structured’s help deskAssists engineers with advanced technical tasks including debugging and supporting hardware modules and systemsPlans and executes customer proof-of-concept (POC) engagements and rapid deployment initiativesDevelops and maintains clear, concise technical documentation, including solution designs, implementation plans, and operational proceduresProvides product training, technical support, and knowledge transfer to customers and internal teamsManages projects and work assignments to ensure effective, efficient, and timely deliveryFollows current policies and procedures for tracking activities within Structured’s CRM and service delivery toolsPerforms additional duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in information systems or a related technical discipline required; or equivalent experience or at least 7 years' experience in the data management industry; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 8+ years data center infrastructure engineering and at least 3+ years' experience in a pre-post sales engineer, IT Infrastructure engineer or solutions engineering capacity at a VAR, OEM, or large enterpriseStrong working knowledge of VMware environments is requiredStrong experience with Rubrik backup and recovery solutions, including backup of NAS and enterprise database systems such as Oracle and MS SQL is requiredDirect experience leading a storage or Data Center refresh of a larger scale is requiredMust have experience and familiarity with cloud environments including Azure/AWSExperience in the configuration, deployment and support of storage/systems and back-up technologies (both hardware and software), including Pure, NetApp, or HPE based solutionsExperience planning and executing infrastructure migration and modernization projectsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams) and experience with CRM tools (Salesforce)Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quotes and reportsMust be able to communicate effectively in English, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishExperience supporting various industries such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, high-tech, startups, tribal health organizations, and state or local government is preferredFamiliarity with NASPO, GSA, and other public-sector procurement vehicles is preferredIndustry certifications such as VMware, NetApp, Everpure (formerly Pure Storage), ideally Rubrik, Dell, Veeam, Hyper V, Nutanix or related certifications are preferredBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, group life and AD&D insurance, and long and short-term disability coverage and 401(k)Training on mutually agreed upon professional goals through a combination of self-study courses, formal training, and on-the-job trainingObtaining industry-based certifications is highly encouragedCompany OverviewStructured Communication Systems is a computer & network security company specializing in cloud, VoIP, and managed services.
