In this role, you will oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of complex HVAC and mechanical distribution systems for their rapidly expanding data centers, ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesProvide expert technical support to data center services and operations teams, defining Mechanical system design requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to completionDevelop, implement, and manage the mechanical designs at the site level, starting from the basis of design through to the issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure upgrades, and renovationsCollaborate effectively with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI) and ensure alignment between Google's requirements and the overall designWork closely with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of the Basis of Design (BOD) and coordinate system-level schematics with the EOROwn and manage site-level power system issues during projects execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve challenges effectivelySkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience12 years of experience in design, construction and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems, including air and water side systems12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environmentsExperience in mechanical infrastructureAbility to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time as requiredMaster's degree in Engineering, Business, or other related fieldProfessional engineering licenseExperience in design, construction, and commissioning of mechanical cooling plants, fire suppression systems, fuel oil systems, domestic water systems, and sanitary sewer systems in mission critical environmentExperience in designing complex modular building scale assemblies, with an understanding of mechanical tolerances and tolerance analysisExperience in estimating, mechanical design, operation, and commissioning of mission critical data center mechanical equipmentExpertise in the areas of design for medium-scale production, structural beams/elements, and international building codes, with knowledge of mechanical engineering and design principlesBenefits25% bonus targetEquityBenefitsCompany OverviewGoogle specializes in internet-related services and products, including search, advertising, and software.
