Alchemy is currently seeking an experienced payroll professional to join their Workday Platform team as a Workday Payroll Senior Consultant. The role involves leading clients through Workday system implementations, managing project development lifecycles, and ensuring clients utilize best practices in payroll management.ResponsibilitiesAs the payroll subject matter expert, lead clients through their Workday system implementation and the project development lifecyclePerform the following as a member of a deployment team: gather and understand customer payroll business requirements, design and configure the Workday Payroll solution, demonstrate configurations through the development of prototype systems, lead and manage parallel testing sessions, and complete knowledge transfer to customersIdentify and analyze business needs and requirements, being able to translate technical requirements into business-appropriate terminologyCreate and develop functional designs and specifications and analyze gaps, while being able to successfully provide solutionsWork with customers to review, understand and convert legacy payroll history into WorkdayAssist the integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutionsConsult with clients on a variety of data integrity issues and leading business practices utilizing WorkdayEnsure customers understand and take advantage of Alchemy and Workday best practicesStrive to innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectivelyHelp ensure customers remain referenceable once in productionWork with clients to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframePartner with project managers to ensure alignment across project plans and allocated budgetsHelp mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role modelMaintain Workday certifications and qualificationsSkillsBachelor's Degree or commensurate work experienceExperience as a Workday Payroll functional lead4+ years of payroll processing or payroll implementation experience with Workday, Ellucian, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar applicationsAbility to use rigorous logic to understand hidden problems and identify effective solutionsAbility to effectively manage against timelines and goalsStrong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with both technical and functional end-usersAn active Workday Payroll certificationAbility and willingness to travel up to 40%Previous consulting experience within Higher Education (college/university)Experience in time tracking, absence, scheduling, compensation, benefits, or HCMBenefitsMarket competitive compensation packages and annual merit programA remote work environmentOne-time home office reimbursement for new hiresExpense allowance per pay period (towards technology, office, and/or wellness)Investment in your ongoing Workday trainingMedical, dental, and vision benefits that begin on day oneHSA, FSA, STD, LTD, and life benefitsUnlimited paid time off.
