This role involves developing media strategies, securing coverage, and translating complex topics into clear narratives for various audiences, while collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesLead media strategy and execution for Chainlink's major announcements across DeFi, banking, capital markets, tokenized assets, stablecoins, interoperability, data, and complianceTranslate complex technical, institutional, and market-infrastructure developments into clear narratives for mainstream business, financial, crypto, and trade audiencesSecure high-quality earned coverage across top-tier business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and institutional trade publicationsBuild and maintain strong personal relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and bookers across financial services, technology, crypto, and capital marketsIdentify the right targets for each announcement; mainstream business outlets, financial television, crypto-native publications, trade media, podcasts, newsletters, and industry analystsOwn the full announcement process: strategy, press materials, targeted pitching, embargo management, spokesperson prep, interview coordination, coverage tracking, and post-launch reportingPrepare executives and spokespeople for interviews, briefings, broadcast appearances, podcasts, conference media, and sensitive conversationsWrite and refine press releases, pitches, messaging documents, Q&As, briefing materials, talking points, reactive statements, and reporter backgroundersMonitor market, media, policy, and Web3 narratives to find timely openings for Chainlink to enter or shape the broader conversationPartner cross-functionally with product, business development, ecosystem, legal, policy, marketing, social, and content teams to keep all external communications accurate and strategically alignedSkillsAt least 7+ years of communications, PR, or media relations experience, ideally across crypto, fintech, financial services, capital markets, enterprise technology, or high-growth techProven track record securing coverage for major company, product, partnership, funding, institutional, or ecosystem announcementsStrong existing relationships with top-tier business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and trade media; including journalists, editors, producers, and bookersDemonstrated ability to turn complex or technical topics into simple, compelling narratives for mainstream and professional financial audiencesStrong understanding of the Web3 industry, including DeFi, tokenization, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, crypto markets, and institutional adoptionExcellent writing and editing across press releases, pitches, messaging documents, Q&As, briefing materials, and executive talking pointsHighly organized and execution-oriented, able to manage multiple announcements, stakeholders, and timelines at onceComfortable working directly with senior executives and preparing them for high-stakes media momentsExperience working in-house, at an agency, or across bothAble to thrive in a remote-first environment where major announcements don't always fit a traditional 9-to-5New York City; based or able to be regularly present in New York for executive media engagements, broadcast interviews, reporter meetings, and financial industry eventsExisting relationships with producers, bookers, and reporters at top financial broadcast outletsExperience supporting communications for banking, capital markets, tokenization, stablecoin, payments, or financial-infrastructure announcementsExperience managing media relations for both crypto-native and mainstream business audiencesAgency management experience; setting expectations, coordinating execution, and holding partners accountable to measurable outcomesExperience supporting executives at conferences, in broadcast studios, on podcasts, and in live media environmentsStrong interest in how Chainlink is bringing capital markets onchainCompany OverviewChainlink Labs provides open-source blockchain oracle solutions and specializes in the development and integration of chainlink.
