[Remote] Senior Cloud Engineer \- US
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Suzega is a consulting company that focuses on building better AI solutions. They are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to architect and operate the platform that enables responsible and reliable AI innovation at scale.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Support cloud platform architecture, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives
ā¢ Translate high-level architecture decisions into practical engineering tasks and delivery plans
ā¢ Drive improvements across platform patterns including networking, IAM, security, observability, automation, and deployment workflows
ā¢ Troubleshoot and escalate complex cloud operations issues, providing senior technical guidance and solutions
ā¢ Mature runbooks, monitoring strategies, alerting frameworks, support handoffs, and operational documentation
ā¢ Identify platform gaps, technical debt, architectural risks, and prioritize improvement opportunities
ā¢ Collaborate with product teams across multiple projects and business units to align cloud infrastructure with application needs
ā¢ Mentor engineers on cloud architecture, DevOps best practices, and operational excellence
ā¢ Work closely with Google Cloud, internal infrastructure teams, and external partners to optimize platform capabilities
ā¢ Lead incident response and post-incident reviews for cloud platform issues
ā¢ Establish and enforce cloud governance, compliance, and security standards
Skills
ā¢ Strong experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure
ā¢ Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform in enterprise environments
ā¢ Expert knowledge of GCP services including compute, networking, storage, IAM, Cloud SQL, and observability
ā¢ Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools
ā¢ Deep experience with CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Helm) and deployment automation
ā¢ Deep experience with Kubernetes/ GKE, container orchestration, load balancing, and networking
ā¢ Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Go, or similar)
ā¢ Experience supporting mission-critical production cloud workloads at scale
ā¢ Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and IAM best practices
ā¢ Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions
ā¢ Proven track record of mentoring engineers and driving architectural standards
ā¢ Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to work across teams
ā¢ Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and escalation handling
