Apex Infrastructure Consultants is seeking an experienced Civil / Land Development Engineer to support large-scale data center site development and infrastructure projects from early site planning through construction. The role involves providing civil engineering expertise, managing multiple projects, and ensuring technical requirements are met throughout various phases of development.ResponsibilitiesProvide civil engineering expertise for data center site development, land development, and infrastructure projectsSupport projects from site planning and due diligence through design, permitting, construction, and turnoverReview civil engineering design packages, including site layout, grading, drainage, utility routing, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and earthwork plansProvide technical guidance and design review comments to architects, engineers, consultants, construction managers, and contractorsRepresent owner requirements and ensure design deliverables align with project objectives, technical standards, and construction requirementsSupport development and maintenance of civil engineering standards, design guidelines, program specifications, and technical requirementsEvaluate site constraints, permitting requirements, zoning considerations, utility availability, and constructability risksCoordinate with cross-functional teams, including real estate, design, construction, environmental, utilities, and operations stakeholdersReview and respond to technical submittals, design changes, RFIs, and construction-related issuesIdentify risks, resolve design conflicts, and provide practical engineering recommendations to keep projects moving forwardSupport construction administration activities and provide technical input during field executionPrepare technical reports, presentations, design review summaries, and project documentationCommunicate technical information clearly to both engineering and non-engineering audiencesSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience10+ years of experience in civil engineering, land development, site development, or civil site infrastructureStrong experience with site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility planning, erosion control, sediment control, and earthworkExperience supporting projects through planning, zoning, permitting, design, construction, and closeoutStrong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, design standards, and technical documentationExperience reviewing civil design drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and construction documentsAbility to coordinate with design consultants, contractors, construction managers, municipalities, utilities, and internal project teamsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal oversight while managing multiple prioritiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficiency in preparing reports, presentations, design review comments, and technical documentationProfessional Engineer license preferredMaster's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferredExperience with data center, mission critical, industrial, utility, infrastructure, or large-scale commercial development projectsFamiliarity with water and wastewater design, utility coordination, and hydraulic modelingExperience with permitting agencies, local jurisdictions, utility providers, and environmental requirementsStrong constructability review experience and ability to identify field execution risks early in the design processCompany OverviewEmpowering global progress through unparalleled engineering excellence, Apex Infrastructure Consultants is a leading project and construction management firm.
