[Remote] Senior Business Systems Analyst, Finance

They are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join their Finance Systems Projects and Transformation team, responsible for bridging Finance and IT, managing system requirements, and ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.ResponsibilitiesServe as a subject matter expert (SME) for finance systemsBuild strong relationships at all levels across the organization, particularly within finance and operationsTroubleshoot and resolve system-related issues and data discrepancies; serve as a point of escalation for complex system support needsAnalyze financial systems performance, configurations, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvementCollaborate with finance users to gather business requirements, document system needs, and recommend solutions or enhancementsSupport finance processes such as month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting by ensuring systems are functioning properly and efficientlyAssist in testing and validating changes, patches, upgrades, and new functionality across financial platformsWork with IT or vendors on system configuration, data integration, and technical issue resolutionMaintain user roles, permissions, and security controls to ensure proper access and complianceDevelop user documentation, training materials, and provide training and support to finance teamsSupport projects such as new system rollouts, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancementsSkillsTypically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or equivalent experienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field5+ years of experience supporting or analyzing financial systems in a business environmentProven ability to manage cross-functional projects and lead teamsStrong Written And Verbal Communication Skills RequiredExperience with process flows and process narrative documentationAbility to compile and analyze complex dataStrong understanding of finance and accounting processesKnowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, or audit supportExperience in the Insurance Industry and/or with Third Party Service AdministratorsCommunication and stakeholder managementData analytics and reportingData cleaning, structure, and managementCapacity management and prioritizationBusiness/insurance acumenIT processes and systemsBenefitsMedical/dental/vision plans, which start from day one!Life and accident insurance401(K) and Roth optionsTax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA)Educational expense reimbursementPaid parental leaveDigital mental health services (Talkspace)Flexible work hours (availability varies by office and job function)Training programsGallagher Thrive program – elevating your health through challenges, workshops and digital fitness programs for your overall wellbeingCharitable matching gift programCompany OverviewGallagher Bassett provides risk control and claim management services.
