[Remote] Senior Benefits Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PEPL is seeking a Benefits Consultant to lead the implementation of the Benefitfocus benefits administration platform for a client. This role involves managing benefits programs, serving as a liaison between various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance and service delivery. The ideal candidate should have expertise in benefits administration and strong technical capabilities.ResponsibilitiesServe as primary system administrator for benefits administration platforms and HRIS systemsConfigure benefit plans, eligibility rules, rates, workflows, enrollment events, carrier feeds, and reporting structuresLead implementation and enhancement projects for benefits technology solutionsMaintain system tables, plan configurations, and data integrity across benefit programsDevelop, test, and validate system changes, upgrades, and enhancementsManage carrier connections, EDI feeds, and vendor integrationsTroubleshoot and resolve benefits system issues and data discrepanciesCreate and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materialsLead benefits implementation projects from discovery through go-live and post-implementation supportGather business requirements and translate them into system configuration specificationsCoordinate project timelines, deliverables, testing activities, and stakeholder communicationsConduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure successful deployment of new benefit programs and system enhancementsFacilitate client and employee training sessionsManage multiple implementations simultaneously while meeting project deadlinesDevelop and maintain benefits reporting dashboards and metricsAnalyze enrollment trends, participation rates, utilization patterns, and cost driversPerform payroll and carrier billing reconciliationsCreate executive-level reports and recommendations regarding benefits effectiveness and cost managementSupport annual budgeting and renewal processes through data analysisProvide expert-level support for employee and client benefit inquiriesAssist with escalated benefits issues requiring advanced problem-solvingDevelop employee communications, enrollment materials, and educational resourcesDeliver high-quality customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalismSkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or related field preferredEquivalent combination of education and experience may be considered3–7+ years of benefits administration, benefits consulting, or HRIS administration experienceExperience implementing and administering benefits technology platformsExperience managing open enrollment and benefits vendor relationshipsStrong knowledge of employee benefit plans and compliance requirementsExperience with benefits administration systems and HRIS platformsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis and reportingExperience with carrier feeds, EDI integrations, and file managementStrong understanding of HRIS configuration and workflow managementAbility to analyze complex data and identify process improvement opportunitiesExperience working in a consulting, brokerage, HR outsourcing, PEO, or professional services environment preferredCompany OverviewPEPL is a women-owned, employee-owned human capital management firm specializing in Talent Acquisition, Managed Services, and Advisory Services.
