[Remote] Senior Backend Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale the services that power their platform, focusing on solving complex technical challenges and shaping the architecture of a rapidly growing product.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable backend services using C#, .NET, and Microsoft Azure technologiesArchitect and develop secure, reliable, and high-performance APIs that power Franki's products and user experiencesCollaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to define technical solutions and deliver new featuresLead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term scalability and maintainabilityConduct code reviews and help establish engineering standards, best practices, and development processesOptimize application performance, reliability, and scalability across our platformTroubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective long-term solutionsChampion automated testing, CI/CD practices, and modern software development methodologiesEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance engineering efficiency and product capabilitiesMentor fellow engineers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing engineering cultureSkills7+ years of experience building modern, cloud-based web applicationsStrong expertise in C#, .NET, and .NET CoreDeep experience with Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Azure DevOps, and SQL ServerExperience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIsStrong understanding of scalable application architecture, software design patterns, and distributed systemsExperience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practicesProficiency with SQL, data modeling, and performance optimizationExperience working within agile product development teamsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical excellence with business prioritiesExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teamsExperience with CQRS, Mediator patterns, or MediatRExperience building serverless applications and event-driven architecturesFamiliarity with React and modern frontend development practicesExperience working in startup environments and shipping products with lean teamsAzure certifications such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions ArchitectExperience building consumer-facing B2C products, marketplaces, social platforms, or recommendation enginesBenefitsRemote work: Our team works remotely across the US but primarily PST time zone; we travel together several times a year for company kick-offs and mid-year meetings.PTO: 15 days per year, plus additional PTO between Christmas and the end of the year (25th Dec - 31st Dec).
