[Remote] Senior Back End Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Back End Engineer to design, build, and scale backend services that power payments and real-time transaction processing, directly impacting the product's trajectory.ResponsibilitiesDesigning and implementing scalable, reliable backend services that handle real-time transaction processingBuilding and evolving event-driven systems for processing financial eventsIntegrating with external partners — card processors, banking APIs, payment networksOwning features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and monitoringCollaborating closely with product, design, and fellow engineers to ship quickly and iterativelyMentoring other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and architectural guidanceImproving engineering practices, tooling, and infrastructure as the team growsSkills5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Java or a similar statically-typed language (Kotlin, Scala, C#)Experience building and operating production microservices and distributed systemsExperience with messaging or event streaming systems (Kafka, Pulsar, or similar)Solid understanding of relational databases with an intuition for data modeling and transactional consistencyComfort working with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerizationExperience scaling systems in a fast-paced, growth-stage environmentStrong communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego mindsetCandidates must have permanent legal authorization to work in the United States.
