They are seeking a Senior Applied Data Scientist to join their Applied Science team, focusing on developing and maintaining software systems related to media processing and machine learning.ResponsibilitiesContribute to a shared codebase, using GitHub and other modern collaboration tools, such as agentic coding systemsPerform the technical elements of a variety of product development and data analysis projects (prototyping, evaluation, productionization, and maintenance), especially related to audio and video processing, generative AI, predictive modeling, and NLPParticipate in the internal peer review process, including design reviews, code reviews, and data analysis reviewsDesign, manage, and analyze controlled experiments within our production systemsRegularly report on progress, results, findings, risks, and opportunitiesSkills2+ years full time working experience in signal processing, data science, or machine learning roles, including predictive modeling, data processing, and data analysis responsibilitiesExtremely strong communication skills, both verbally and in writingStrong familiarity with Python coding, utilizing industry standard libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn)Interest in presenting technical and business-oriented information to a variety of audiences, including senior management and customersBS/ MS / PhD in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science or a related fieldStrong academic and professional experience with audio signal processing, speech synthesis, and computer visionExperience writing, deploying, and maintaining Python and SQL code in a production settingExperience building and maintaining production machine learning systems in a cloud-based platform, such as AWS SageMakerExperience developing and maintaining custom deep learning models using pytorch and HuggingFace, especially models involving text, audio, and video dataExperience using third-party generative AI systems, including prompt engineering and fine-tuningExperience in the accessibility and localization industriesCompany Overview3Play Media provides captioning, live auto-captioning, audio description, transcription, and subtitling services.
