Blue Cross NC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst – Financial Data Modeling and Analytics to support advanced financial analysis, cost modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across the organization. This role involves providing financial insights to leaders, ensuring accuracy and scalability while driving decision-making through data analytics and financial modeling expertise.ResponsibilitiesServe as a senior financial partner to leaders, providing insights and recommendations that support strategic and operational decisionsInterpret financial results, trends, and forecasts, translating complex analyses into clear business implicationsDesign, develop, and maintain complex financial models to support: Cost allocation and driver‑based analysis, Scenario, sensitivity, and what‑if analysisTranslate assumptions and business drivers into quantified financial outcomesTranslate complex modeling outputs into clear, actionable insights that drive business decisionsDevelop and refine driver-based and predictive modeling approachesEnsure models are structurally sound, well‑documented, and reproducible over timeDefine and validate core financial datasets used for actuals, budget, and forecastEnsure consistency of metrics and methodologies across reporting and analysisDesign scalable analytical structures, dashboards, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)Reduce manual effort by improving automation, structure, and reuse of financial analysesIndependently build end-to-end data and analytics solutions (i.e. ingesting data, modeling data. analyzing data, developing reports/dashboards, and sharing insights) to meet organizational priorities and timelinesContinuously improve financial analysis processes, tools, and methodologiesDocument models, assumptions, and analytical approaches to enable knowledge transferSkillsBachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, cost accounting, or financial modelingAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, complex formulas) and Power BI or similar tools (data modeling, dashboards, data visualization) – Highly PreferredStrong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into clear, actionable insightsExperience building and maintaining complex financial models and supporting enterprise-level budgeting, forecasting, or cost allocation processes - Highly PreferredExperience working in complex or highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, insurance, financial services), including familiarity with financial governance, audit support, and CAS/FAR regulationsExperience with financial systems, reporting platforms and data integrationsExcellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and growth orientation. – Highly PreferredStrong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teamsExperience contributing to cross-functional initiatives or projects, with exposure to project management practicesBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage along with numerous health and wellness programs.Parental leave and support plus adoption and surrogacy assistance.Career development programs and tuition reimbursement for continued education.401k match including an annual company contributionAnnual Incentive Bonus*Paid Time Off (PTO)Competitive health benefits and wellness programsCompany OverviewIt's an exciting time to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC).
