[Remote] Senior AI Software Engineer

They are seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent systems that augment their commercial software platform, Boltline, focusing on automating manufacturing processes and integrating AI capabilities.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement agentic systems and workflows that automate complex, multi-step manufacturing and engineering processesBuild and maintain RAG pipelines leveraging vector databases to enable intelligent search and retrievalDevelop comprehensive evaluation frameworks (evals) to measure, monitor, and improve AI system performance, accuracy, and reliabilityCreate developer tooling, SDKs, and internal platforms that accelerate AI adoption across the engineering organizationIntegrate LLM APIs and orchestration frameworks into production applicationsDesign end-to-end features across the stack using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and PostgresLead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for AI-powered featuresPartner with product and hardware teams to identify high-impact opportunities for AI augmentationMentor engineers on AI/ML best practices through code reviews, pairing, and design collaborationParticipate in Boltline Operational Excellence including participating in on-call rotation and other operational activitiesSkills4+ years of professional software development experienceHands-on experience building agentic systems, autonomous workflows, or AI-powered automationExperience building RAG architectures, integrating vector databases, and deploying semantic search implementationsExperience designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for LLM-based systemsProficiency with full-stack development: TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and relational databasesFamiliarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and orchestration frameworksProven ability to own features from concept through deployment and iterationExcellent collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional teamsComfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on delivering impactDegree in computer science or related field/experienceExperience with prompt/context engineering and fine-tuningBackground in building developer tools, CLIs, or internal platformsFamiliarity with Next.js, Apollo (Client/Server), Hasura, or similarExperience with Docker, Kubernetes/ECS, and AWS infrastructureFamiliarity with event-driven architectures using Temporal, Kafka, or similarHands-on experience with observability and monitoring for AI systemsExposure to manufacturing, aerospace, or complex physical systemsInterest in aerospace/manufacturing workflowsBenefitsEquity - We know that our employees are the reason we succeed.
