This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless transition of transactional accounting functions, requiring expertise in accounting, insurance industry knowledge, and project management skills to drive successful integration processes.ResponsibilitiesDevelop comprehensive integration plans for transactional accounting functions that align with the companyโs strategic objectives and operational requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration milestones, timelines, and resource needsConduct detailed financial analyses to evaluate the impact of integration activities on banking, cash application, special handling, premium billing, and commission billing processesPartner with NAC teams (Accounts Receivable, Billing, Accounts Payable, Senior Leadership Team) to ensure a smooth transition with proper controls in placeManage the integration of special handling processes for cash applications, direct bill commission posting, premium, broker commission, & SLT payablesEnsure compliance with Corporate Finance Policy and industry standards while implementing robust controls and reporting mechanisms to mitigate fraud risksLead the integration of cash application processes, documenting special handling procedures and ensuring the Accounts Receivable team is well-preparedDevelop automated cash reconciliation procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy, reducing manual intervention and minimizing discrepanciesStreamline payables management processes for premium payments, commissions, and claims settlementsOptimize carrier relationships and payment terms while developing standardized workflows and approval processes to improve transparency and controlOversee the integration of premium billing and direct bill commission billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoicing and commission paymentsCollaborate with insurance carriers and brokers to reconcile premium accounts and commission statements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with contractual agreementsAct as a key liaison between accounting teams, business units, insurance carriers, brokers, and external partners throughout the integration processCommunicate integration objectives, progress updates, and potential risks to stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignmentDevelop change management strategies to prepare NAC teams for the transitionProvide training and support to transactional teams and operational staff on new processes, systems, and controls introduced during the integrationSkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and 7 years of accounting project experience10% - 35% travel requiredProficient in Microsoft Excel and WordRequires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertiseBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferredMinimum of 7 years of experience in transactional accounting roles within the insurance brokerage or financial services industry, with a focus on premium & broker payables and commission processingComprehensive knowledge of insurance accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practicesProven track record of leading successful integration projects, with strong project management and change management expertiseExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders across all organizational levelsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentStrong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectivelyWillingness to travel as needed to acquisition partners and corporate headquartersProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applicationsBenefitsMedical/dental/vision plans, which start from day one!Life and accident insurance401(K) and Roth optionsTax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA)Educational expense reimbursementPaid parental leaveDigital mental health services (Talkspace)Flexible work hours (availability varies by office and job function)Training programsGallagher Thrive program โ elevating your health through challenges, workshops and digital fitness programs for your overall wellbeingCharitable matching gift programCompany OverviewWe are a law firm that specialises in corporate liability claims.
