They are seeking a Senior Accountant to support a multi-unit organization through general accounting activities, internal controls, and financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the preparation of General Ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing in an efficient, timely mannerAssists in the preparation and posting of entries to accounts of the General Ledger for routine accounting entriesPrepare analysis for the Inventory Excess & Obsolescence Reserve. Collaborate with Inventory Management to understand necessary reserve adjustments and communicate the results to managementPerforms consolidating tasks and assists with the year-end financial auditCompletes investigative analysis of accounting records to explain variances resulting from financial statement review and inquiries from field or management personnelAssists with monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accountsMaintain and analyze prepaid and accrual accounts, including recording journal entries, performing reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of balancesAssist in the management of the Fixed Asset process and procedures, including the internal requisition processEnsure open lines of communication with customers (internal and external), co-workers and managementMaintain compliance with corporate policies and employment laws, to ensure a workplace that safeguards the rights of every employeePrepare audit requests and assist auditors with inquiresUnderstand and maintain internal planning and control proceduresRecommend improvements to policies and procedures to strengthen the controls and enhance business systems and improve productivityCompletes special projects that are ancillary to routine dutiesFrequently manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneouslySkillsBachelor's Degree in accounting (BA) from four-year college or university5+ years related experience; prior management experience preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls requiredIn-depth knowledge of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and standard variance analysesExperience with state and local sales and use tax filingsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to demonstrate teamwork; proven ability to work with all levels of an organizationAcute attention to detailTrack record of being able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentStrong prioritization skills with a clear focus on resultsProficient in MS Office Applications; Expertise in Excel; Experience with NetSuite a plusPrior management experiencePrevious experience in the automotive or service industry is strongly preferredBenefitsPaid time offMedicalDentalVision401k match (50% on the dollar up to 7% of employee contribution)Company OverviewDealer Tire helps auto manufacturers and dealers grow their tire and light maintenance business.
