[Remote] Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant serves as a key accounting professional responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of financial data through accurate reconciliations and financial reporting.ResponsibilitiesPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completenessReconcile all bank accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerPrepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in accordance with GAAPCalculate, prepare, and file multi-state sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations with the assistance of external vendorsGenerate monthly financial statements and conduct variance analysis, identifying and investigating unusual fluctuationsPrepare supplemental financial reports to support management decision-makingManage and maintain deferred revenue schedules, ensuring accurate recognition in accordance with revenue recognition standardsUtilize and maintain NetSuite, including supporting the Advanced Revenue Management module (experience preferred)Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requestsCross-train within the accounting team and provide support in other functional areas as neededSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required5–7 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of deferred revenue accounting and revenue recognition principlesProven experience calculating and filing sales and use taxSolid knowledge of GAAP and general ledger processesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionallyExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to anticipate issues, solve problems, and take initiativeSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentCPA preferredExperience with NetSuite preferredCompany Overview95 Percent Group is an education management company.
