[Remote] Senior Accountant

Zillow is a leading real estate platform in the U.S. that is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their Corporate Accounting team. This role supports key activities within corporate accounting, including month-end close processes, international accounting, and compliance, while driving process improvements and building relationships with stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesLead components of the month-end and quarter-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesSupport international accounting and reporting for foreign subsidiaries, including ownership of related journal entries and reportingPerform and review flux analysis for operating expenses and balance sheet accounts, investigating and explaining variances to managementPartner with Tax, Financial Reporting, and Technical Accounting on matters related to international operations, compliance, and reporting requirementsDrive process improvements, automation initiatives, and documentation to enhance efficiency, scalability, and controlsOwn and operate SOX controls as needed, including evaluating control design and execution and supporting audit requestsServe as a point of contact for internal and external auditors for assigned areasBuild strong relationships with Finance and business stakeholders and provide accounting guidance as neededSkillsBA/BS with a concentration in Accounting or FinanceStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including public accounting and/or experience at a mid-to-large-sized tech or high-growth companyExperience supporting month-end close processes in a complex environmentExperience with international accounting, intercompany transactions, and/or global entitiesStrong Excel skills and comfort working with large data setsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain accounting matters to non-accountantsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesProactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environmentCPA preferredExperience with Workday or other ERP systems preferredAudit or internal audit experience preferredBenefitsEquity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and locationCompany OverviewZillow is an online real estate marketplace for finding and sharing information about homes, real estate, and mortgages.
