[Remote] Senior Accountant

Nexcess provides specialty cloud solutions and is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. The role involves preparing financial reports, maintaining internal controls, and supporting various accounting activities in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesMonth-end closing journal entries within a pre-defined close schedulePrepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, including investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely mannerImprove reconciliation processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiencyEnsure accuracy of financial statement accounts in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policiesResponsible for payroll-related accounting activities, including salary, bonus accruals, commissions, and related payroll taxesAccounting for employee benefits programs including: Health insurance, 401(k), paid time off accruals, and other employee-related benefitsAssist with indirect tax compliance and accounting, including property tax, sales tax, and VATSupport annual audits by preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requestsPartner with Human Resources, Finance, Tax, and external payroll providers to resolve payroll and benefits issuesAssist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiativesSupervise, train, and mentor accounting staff where applicableSkillsMasters in Accounting, CPA designation or CPA track a plusStrong accounting background with 4+ years general ledger accounting experienceStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, payroll accounting, and indirect tax requirementsAdvanced Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skillsTeam player and have ability to work independentlyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organizationExperience with ERP systems, SAP S4/HANA (Public Cloud) experience is a plusTech/SAAS industry experience a plusBenefitsHealth insurance401(k)Paid time off accrualsCompany OverviewSpecialized cloud solutions for organizations in highly regulated, compliance-driven industries that prioritize performance & control.
