[Remote] Senior Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lynx is building the payments infrastructure layer for the next generation of fintech and healthcare finance. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities, support the monthly close, and improve systems and processes to facilitate growth.ResponsibilitiesSupport and perform the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesPrepare bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling itemsOwn day-to-day revenue accounting, including analysis and journal entries for revenue streams such as interchange fees, ecommerce, revenue share arrangements, and subscriptionsManage monthly billings and collections, including hands-on invoicing and customer follow-up as neededPrepare accounting for stock-based compensationSupport payables, accruals, and other operating expense accountingPrepare payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliationsManage prepaid expenses, including accounting for costs to fulfill a contract under ASC 340-40Help ensure the close process is accurate, timely, and well-documentedSupport monthly FP&A model updates used for management and Board reportingAssist with updates to Board materials, including financial and operating performance schedulesWork directly with the CFO and VP of Accounting to connect accounting results to business performance, forecasts, and strategic decision-makingSupport audit readiness initiatives and assist with audit requests, schedules, and documentationHelp document accounting processes, including flowcharts and narratives for revenue-related processesIdentify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, and close efficiencySupport AI and automation initiatives across the accounting functionPartner with the VP of Accounting on technical accounting research and analysis for complex or non-routine transactionsWork cross-functionally with Operations, Product, and Sales to understand business activity and ensure it is properly reflected in the financial statementsSkillsActive CPA license3â6 years of accounting experienceStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principlesExperience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement supportAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow through on detailsStrong Excel or Google Sheets skillsClear communication skills and comfort working cross-functionallyA hands-on, ownership-oriented mindsetComfort working in a lean, fast-moving environment with evolving processesAbility to consistently work Eastern Time business hoursExperience in fintech, payments, financial services, SaaS, or another high-growth environmentPublic accounting experience, including Big 4, national, or regional firm experienceExperience with revenue recognition under ASC 606Familiarity with ASC 340-40, stock-based compensation, payroll accounting, accruals, and prepaid expensesExperience supporting audits or audit readiness projectsInterest in process improvement, automation, AI tools, and building scalable accounting processesBenefitsCompetitive salary, equity, and performance bonusesA driven, optimistic, and collaborative cultureComprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insuranceUnlimited vacationPaid parental leave for eligible employees401(k) planRemote with regular in-person team meetingsCompany OverviewLynx provides an API-driven platform for businesses to integrate healthcare financial services, payments, banking, and investments.
