[Remote] Senior Accountant

RAS Logistics is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead their Accounting functions while supporting audit readiness and financial reporting integrity. This role is essential for maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring timely and accurate financial processes within a high-volume logistics environment.ResponsibilitiesOversee full-cycle AP process including invoice intake, coding, approvals, and payment executionSupport disciplined AP processes, including payment prioritization aligned with liquidity needsManage weekly disbursement planning in coordination with the 13-week cash flow forecastEnsure timely payments of critical vendors (fuel, utilities, rent, etc.) to avoid operational disruptionMonitor and reduce past-due balances while balancing working capital constraintsSupport continuous improvement in AP systems and workflows (Bill.com, NetSuite)Oversee weekly carrier pay process ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessPartner with Operations and Lean Staffing to validate settlement data from GEAR and other systemsReview and analyze carrier pay variances (pay additions, guaranteed minimums, fuel reimbursements, etc.)Ensure proper reconciliation between carrier settlements, revenue, and contractual termsIdentify and support initiatives to improve carrier pay efficiency and reduce leakageMaintain strong communication with field teams to resolve discrepancies quicklySupport external audit process, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and tie-outsEnsure audit readiness across AP and carrier pay functions (supporting documentation, reconciliations, controls)Assist with implementation and enforcement of internal controls and accounting policiesPartner with Finance leadership on technical accounting areas impacting AP or cost recognitionCoordinate with external auditors and advisors (e.g., audit firm, lenders) as neededSupport monthly close process, specifically around AP accruals, carrier pay accruals, and expense recognitionEnsure accurate cutoff and completeness of liabilitiesAssist in variance analysis related to delivery expense, carrier pay %, and operating costsPartner with FP&A to explain trends and anomalies in weekly and monthly reportingSupport process standardization across AP and carrier pay workflowsIdentify automation opportunities within NetSuite, Bill.com, and GEAR integrationsImprove visibility and reporting around spend, vendor aging, and carrier economicsSupport system implementations and data integrity initiativesSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to AP and/or high-volume transaction environmentsStrong understanding of accrual accounting and financial controlsExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and AP platforms (Bill.com or similar)CPA preferred but not requiredExperience in logistics, transportation, or similarly complex operating businesses preferredCompany OverviewFrom showroom to delivery, our number one priority is delivering a seamless experience to both you and your customers.
