The Senior Account Manager for Life Sciences Electron Microscopy will drive growth and manage strategic relationships with academic institutions, leveraging expertise in cryo-electron microscopy and volume electron microscopy to support advancements in research.ResponsibilitiesOwn all sales and account management responsibilities for Life Sciences Electron Microscopy solutions within academic institutions, national laboratories, and research centers across the assigned multi-state territoryFocus on cryo-EM platforms, sample preparation workflows, and volume EM technologies supporting structural biology and advanced imaging researchDevelop and execute strategic account plans aligned to institutional priorities, grant funding cycles, and core facility growth initiativesBuild strong relationships with principal investigators, lab managers, core facility directors, and university leadership across the regionIdentify, develop, and close opportunities across the full workflow, including instrumentation, automation, software, and service offeringsMaintain accurate quarterly booking forecasts and provide regular updates to managementDevelop deep understanding of academic funding mechanisms, including federal grants (e.g., NIH), institutional funding, and shared instrumentation programsConfirm system configurations, specifications, and acceptance criteria to ensure successful order closurePartner with application scientists and product specialists to deliver technical demonstrations, workshops, and seminars tailored to academic audiencesDrive adoption of advanced workflows such as single-particle analysis, cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET), and large-volume 3D imaging techniques (e.g., serial block-face SEM, FIB-SEM)Support and grow user communities and core facility networks, including workshops, seminars, and user group activities across the territoryManage product evaluations and proof-of-concept engagements in collaboration with internal teamsCoordinate with field service and support teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and long-term successMaintain continuous learning to stay current with rapid advancements in cryo-EM and volume EM technologies and academic research trendsSkillsAcademic Degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or engineering5+ years of professional experience in Academia and Government commercial environmentsProven expertise in capital equipment sales of scientific instrumentation in Academic/Government accountsDemonstrated ability to propose creative solutions to complex problemsManagement track record of building relationships, driving results and making ethical decisionsOperate in culturally different and diverse environmentsTrack record of delivering results and self-accountabilityKnowledge of business and commercial excellenceExperience with Digital Marketing tools and platformsMultiple years experience in sales training platforms (e.g. Miller Heiman)Advanced knowledge of customer relation management systems (CRM's)Deep knowledge of the Academia and Government commercial landscape in North AmericaAbility to generate pipeline and business
