They are seeking an early-career Security Engineer to collaborate with experienced professionals in designing, building, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines, integrating security practices in the software development lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesEnhance pipeline reliability, performance, scalability, and developer experience through automation and optimizationEmbed security controls including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and container security into the software delivery lifecycleSupport the integration of AI-enabled automation tools for code analysis, vulnerability prioritization, workflow optimization, and security operationsEnsure governance, risk, and compliance consistency through adherence to Cisco security policies and regulatory requirementsMonitor pipeline health, security posture, and operational effectiveness while identifying opportunities for continuous improvementCollaborate with software engineering and platform teams as a technical resource supporting secure software development initiativesSkillsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related fieldBasic experience in software development with familiarity in one or more scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShellExperience with GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, source control practices, software development environments, and CI/CD methodologiesFoundational understanding of secure software development practices, application security concepts, and exposure to AI-assisted development tools, automation solutions, agentic workflows, MCP servers, or similar emerging technologiesMust be a U.S. citizen with authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship requirementsExperience supporting CI/CD platforms, pipeline automation, or DevSecOps initiativesStrong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teamsExposure to AI-assisted code analysis, security scanning tools, and vulnerability management workflowsFamiliarity with Git-based automation, secure coding practices, and interpreting security scan results against established coding or security standardsBenefitsU.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco’s plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance.Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by CiscoNon-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employeesExempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the nextAdditional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family membersOptional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteerFor non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan.Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.Company OverviewCisco develops, manufactures, and sells networking hardware, telecommunications equipment, and other technology services and products.
